REPUBLICAN SUPPORT OF THE U.S.A. & ITS ALLIES IN THE WAR

As Editor of The Road to Freedom, I'm compelled to come out in support of our American friends, who have taken up the task of removing the despotic government of Iraq under the control of Saddam Hussein. For too long, nations of the world have been sitting on the sidelines, allowing this man to continue to snub the international community and keep the Middle East under a perpetual threat of war. We must commend the cour- age, resolve, and leadership the United States of America has, in this matter, shown to the rest of the world. We must praise the Americans' demonstration that they will not tolerate the rise in the world of dangerous regimes that threaten global security. It's bad enough we still have to contend with political regimes like that of China, a highly authori- tarian state which has nuclear capabilities, keeps liberty from its citizens, and compels them to live under the evil, despotic arm of Communism. Can you imagine Saddam Hus- sein or his sons turning Iraq into a nuclear power? Stopping Iraq from becoming a nu- clear world power is the right thing to do for all freedom-loving nations of the world.
As regards Canada, France, Germany and the other countries opposed to the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, it's important to note that the majority of these countries are all under Leftwing Socialist governments. You must understand this opposition to the war against Iraq has more to do with hating capitalism and individual liberty than it has to do with saving Iraqi children from coalition bombs. Socialist envy of capitalism knows no bound- aries.
Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien has supported the likes of Mugabe, Suharto, Castro, and now Hussein. Why won't he support the United States--Canada's greatest friend and neighbor and, did I mention, biggest trading partner? One has to wonder if this is a case of birds of feather flocking together.
The Canadian Liberal Government has consistently shown its ugly face of virulent anti- Americanism. Each time one of Jean Chretien's Members of Parliament gets caught spewing such visceral hatred towards the United States, the Prime Minister just shrugs it off. We have been witnessing an endless parade of Liberal Members of Parliament apologizing in the press for their remarks. The question is, do they mean what they say? Of course they do. This is the heart and soul of the Socialist America-hating Trudeau Liberals. Up with the big Nanny State, down with individual freedom, liberty, and pros- perity
We can certainly hope the United States and supporting allies will quickly end Saddam Hussein's evil regime and bring stability into the Middle Eastern region, not only for the world, but also for the freedom-starved Iraqi people. Our prayers are with the President of the United States and all the servicemen who are putting their lives on the line to bring about freedom and liberty for a people they don't know in Iraq, and for an ungrateful world that will have one less tyrant to deal with
