DEFEAT SADDAM HUSSEIN, OVERTHROW HIS REGIME,
& LIBERATE THE IRAQI PEOPLE
By Marti Stapp

Defeat Saddam Hussein, destroy his tyrannical regime, and liberate the Iraqi people? Determination is the key to doing so. "Tear down that wall" comes to mind. The guy who winks at cheating never seems to win, just as in poker. We are in a world stakes poker game and the survival of Western civilization is the anti-up on the table.

In a war against Muslim fanatics, we cannot afford to pretend we are winning if we are not. No matter what we do, the religious zealots will come after us. They have sworn to kill us and to return the world to the seventh century, when Muslim leaders were power- ful. The Islamists aspire to rule the entire planet. We must have the guts to stop them.

Although we have other enemies, Saddam Hussein is the specific despot who aggres- sively attacked his neighbors. He is the sadist who keeps trying to obtain nuclear weapons--nuclear weapons that he will not shrink from using. He will sell his chemical and biological weapons to our terrorist enemies if we do not stop him. (I think he has already exported anthrax, for example.) We now know that he uses his wealth, as his people starve, to pay off the families of murderer-bombers. He shelters and gives medical aid to the Al-Qa'ida hierarchy. He sponsors terrorist training camps on Iraqi soil. What do we NOT know? Are these activities merely the tip of his sadistic plans to control the entire Mideast?

For those who cite North Korea as our main enemy, don't get me started. Bill Clinton gave a nuclear facility to North Korea and billions of American taxpayer dollars too. Kim Jong Il offered only his promise not to create nukes to get what he wanted. President Clinton, a man who spent his entire life making empty promises, chose to believe him. That other great "peacemaker," Jimmy Carter, was a credulous fool, but Clinton was and is a past master of "Promise 'em anything" while going on to do as he pleased. He should have known better. Why didn't he understand the dude in North Korea, who also smiles a lot, and is cut from the same mold as Clinton? Sheesh.

If our allies and we don't police the world, especially the Mideast, we will awaken to World War III in all our "River Cities" and in European cities too. The appeasers of the past believed it is possible to "contain evil." We have learned from history that we have no time left in this fast-paced century to argue with the likes of Lindberg/Petain/Cham- berlain or even proponents of isolationism.

Hollywood Liberals regard a "small war" as worse than the possibility of another World War. Rosie O'Donnel wants Saddam to "go away." He won't. There's only one solution: Civilized nations must drag backward nations into a productive way of life or suffer the endless consequences of envy and hatred. For example, according to a FoxNews maven, Muslims comprise 20% of the world's population, but contribute only 4% toward civilization. Liberals ignore the fact that Muslim terrorism puts them in the minus side overall.

Those who march around pretending to be for the "little people" also ignore what Sad- dam is doing to his own innocent Iraqi civilians. Aziz Al-Taee, Chairman of the Iraqi- American Council, recently told NewsMax.Com that Iraqis "are very excited about liberation. They know Saddam's days are numbered. Saddam has taken them hostage for the last thirty-four years."

Al-Taee is a refuge from Saddam's torture chambers. He described his electrocution with high voltage probes. He described his tormentors hanging him from the ceiling with his hands tied as he was whipped with a stick on the bottom of his feet. He's one of the lucky ones. His punishment was mild compared to stories of people forced to take acid baths and forced to swallow gasoline until sadistic torturers lit a match to snuff out their lives and put them out of their misery.

"I was tortured in Iraq," Al-Tahee told NewsMax. "My brother in law was mutilated. My cousin was hanged."

How can anyone who considers the millions of people Saddam killed in his assaults against his neighbors and the millions of his own people he has deliberately gassed, tor- tured and murdered sit silently by as an "innocent bystander?" There is no such thing as an innocent bystander who, once aware of evil, elects to do nothing to halt it.

A few of "peace protesters" grudgingly admit Saddam Hussein is evil. Will they continue to compare Bush to Hitler instead of protesting Saddam Hussein? As they embolden Saddam to remain in power, they propose no realistic solutions for ending his reign of terror.

When it comes to "civilized nations" versus the "uncivilized," here are the facts. Na- tions that ignore/misuse half their population (women) will remain despotic, and it will be difficult to change them. When women have enough power to help their men overcome tyrants, their nations become civilized. This is particularly important in the Mideast.

Therefore, the downfall of Saddam must not be our only goal. Just as in Afghanistan, we must free the women to become equal partners in destiny of their own nations. This includes all Mideastern nations, since "oil rich" is not concomitant with "civilized." Male aggression/domination must cease in the Mideast or we really will have a World War on our hands. We cannot ignore the envy, ignorance, and hatred of indoctrinated Muslim fanatics. Educated, empowered, voting women hold the hope for Mideastern cultures to evolve into contemporary, contributing societies.

Dream of little Muslim girls going to school, driving cars, teaching their children a better way of life that rises above mere survival of the cruelest. War will save thousands from Saddam's death mills, but it might also save the next nation and the next nation from destroying the minds and souls of half their population. Those emotionally stunted nations could be forced become real constitutional democracies. It could happen, if we are lucky.
